The roughly four MEUR contract includes two complete systems for trimming, cutting, distribution and packing of fillets and portions.
Båtsfjordbruket, a subsidiary of the Nordic seafood group Insula AS, was established in 1981 and has a proud tradition as a conventional fish purchasing station and fillet factory.

Meeting the demand with high-tech and cost-effective production
The increasing market demand for fresh products, more narrow product specifications and consumer-ready packaging are leading to the production process becoming more complex than ever. At the same time, it’s getting more challenging to get skilled workers.
With the new highly automated processing lines, the company is ready to produce a complicated mix of products, fresh and frozen in a highly efficient manner.
“The new Valka production lines will allow us to strategically improve our capabilities and serve our customers in the best possible way. Furthermore, it will greatly improve our competitiveness in an ever more demanding market,” says Frank Kristiansen, the CEO of Båtfjordbruket.
Continuing collaboration for the next generation fish processing
We are honoured to be part of this ambitious project and in helping Båtsfjordbruket achieve their goals says Kristjan Kristjansson General Director Valka AS. In 2015 we installed a comprehensive fully automated whole fish grading system at the plant, and this is a logical next step into the future for them.
